Mechanical Assembly Operative, Malton
Job Purpose / Overview
Due to growth, we are recruiting for Mechanical Assembler’s. This role will primarily undertake the production and assembly of products and components.
What You Will Do
- To undertake the production and assembly of products and components.
- Read and interpret drawings/Specifications, work orders.
- Assemble and finish equipment according to information supplied as scheduled by the assembly lead and production supervisor.
- Perform prescribed operations and follow instructions from the production supervisor and team leader.
- Work to tight deadlines in a busy environment as part of a team and individually.
- Maintain assigned work area and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
- Employee is responsible for determining if he/she has adequate information and materials to complete tasks as directed.
- Safely move completed work to assigned location(s).
- As needed for the specific assignment, may use hand tools or operate bench mounted air/power assist tools to complete work assignment(s).
- In accordance with work orders, job directions and dimensional drawings, retrieve components and/or supplies from designated stock areas and set up work area.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures and by reporting any safety concerns.
- Driving licence and own transport (unless local).
What You Will Bring
- Experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Attention to detail and good hand to eye coordination are essential.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Forklift and reach truck license an advantage.
- Good communication skills and people awareness.
- Good numeracy and PC skills.
- Flexibility, an ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations and priorities.
