Grade: NHS AfC Band 4, Contract: 12 months, Full time (37.5 hours per week), Job ref 335-A-2018-A

Location: EMAS HQ, 1 Horizon Place, Nottingham Town, Nottingham

Salary: £28,392 – £31,157 per annum (including unsocial pay), Yearly.

Job overview

Opportunity within the HP EOC for a 12‑month secondment full‑time CFR Dispatch Coordinator. Focuses on dispatching Community First Responders within specific divisions and supporting performance delivery for the Trust. Band 4 with shift allowance based on hours worked.

Also requires Pathways qualified to support 999 and urgent call taking as needed.

Main duties

You will assess emergency and non‑emergency calls from the public and medical professionals, evaluate and allocate appropriate resources within the remit. Assessment and communication are vital to ensure care is provided.

Core responsibilities

  • Deliver and exceed Department of Health and locally agreed standards, including Standards for Better Health.
  • Ensure effective utilisation of people and vehicles throughout the EOC.
  • Support the EOC Management Team in achieving and excelling in patient care and ensuring best clinical routes and outcomes.
  • Work in partnership with Departmental and Operational Managers to maintain best practice and business continuity across the Trust.
  • Accountable to the Duty Management Team to deliver the service with expert knowledge, skill and leadership in the EOC specialty area.

Qualifications and experience

  • Previous experience of working in an EOC.
  • Ability to make dynamic decisions in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Strong verbal communication and team working skills.
  • Own initiative and effective decision making.
  • Knowledge of HEMS, urgent or CFR desk operations.
  • Understanding of dispatch protocols.
  • RSA I typing/Word processing.
  • Flexible to work unsociable hours according to a 10‑week rota.
