Nursery Assistant – Flexible Work (Essex)
Location: Essex
Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour
Job Type: Temporary / Flexible Work
Working Hours: Flexible shifts available between 8:00am and 6:00pm
TeacherActive is working with a variety of nurseries across Essex that are looking for enthusiastic Nursery Assistants to support their teams on a temporary and flexible basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for flexible nursery work within supportive and welcoming early years environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting children with play‑based learning and daily activities
- Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and positive nursery environment
- Assisting nursery practitioners with day‑to‑day routines
- Encouraging children’s social, emotional, and physical development
- Building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff members
- Supporting meal times, indoor and outdoor activities, and personal care routines
- Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children is desirable
- A childcare qualification is beneficial but not essential
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children within early years settings
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
