Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at a well-established coastal hotel in Sidmouth. This position is focused on the vegetable and fryer sections and is suited to a reliable, experienced chef who enjoys producing quality food in a busy kitchen environment. The role would particularly suit a more mature chef with a strong background in pub, hotel, or traditional British food operations. You will be working as part of a professional brigade, preparing fresh ingredients and ensuring consistently high standards throughout service.
Responsibilities
- Managing the vegetable and fryer sections during service.
- Preparing and cooking fresh ingredients to company standards.
- Maintaining consistency, quality, and portion control.
- Ensuring all food hygiene and health & safety regulations are followed.
- Assisting with stock rotation and minimising waste.
- Supporting other sections of the kitchen when required.
- Working effectively within a busy brigade environment.
- Maintaining a clean and organised workstation at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, Demi Chef de Partie, or experienced Commis Chef.
- Strong knowledge of traditional British and pub-style cooking.
- Experience working on vegetable and fryer sections.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Reliable, hardworking, and team-focused approach.
- Understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene procedures.
- Live-in accommodation is available, although local candidates are also encouraged to apply.
