Apply for the Depot Operative (IBA)
Location: Wellingborough
Job Description:

Join a Team That Delivers Excellence Every Day

We’re looking for reliable, hands‑on people to join our busy material processing depot in Wellingborough. If you enjoy practical work, being part of a team, and want to work for a company that values its people, this could be the job for you.

Day Group is a family‑owned business with over 75 years in construction and recycling. We’re known for our personal approach, dependability, and innovative solutions. With 25+ locations and nearly 700 people, we offer stability and real opportunities to grow.

Our new Wellingborough facility is a £20 million investment in the Midlands. Here, we recycle Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) from energy recovery plants and turn it into Ecoblend®, a range of sustainable aggregates used in construction. By recycling waste that would otherwise go to landfill, we help protect natural resources and promote responsible construction.

  • Help with maintenance and repairs when needed
  • Keep the site safe and tidy at all times
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental rules

Hours

  • 55 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Early shift (6:00 am – 5:00 pm) or Late shift (12:00 pm – 11:00 pm)

About You

  • Physically fit and happy to work in an active role
  • A positive, “can‑do” attitude
  • Reliable and able to work well with others

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay with overtime opportunities
  • 9% non‑contributory pension
  • Discretionary summer and Christmas bonuses

This role is based on‑site at Ogee Business Park in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. You’ll need to live within a reasonable commuting distance, and because of the location and early start times, having your own transport or a valid driving licence is recommended.
