Multi Skilled Commercial Engineer

Location: Camden

Contract: Contract

Remuneration: £22.91 per hour PAYE or £29.91 per hour (umbrella company, inside IR35)

Hours: 7am – 3:15pm (36 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Carry out plumbing, mechanical and/or electrical repairs, planned preventative maintenance, renewals and replacements within commercial-type buildings, including schools, children’s centres and other premises.
• Perform routine reactive repairs, planned maintenance, statutory testing and, where required, design and installation works.
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with industry standards (SGF20, CIBSIE), building and statutory regulations, British standards and manufacturers’ operating and maintenance manuals.
• Diagnose compliance and asset failures and determine the best solution to resolve repair problems.
• Maintain properties with minimal disruption to customers, ensuring staff can focus on educational matters.

Qualifications

• Experience across at least two mechanical, electrical or plumbing (MEP) disciplines.
• Recognised qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds.
• Practical experience in commercial building maintenance, repairs and installations, ideally in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and customer care skills, representing the Camden FM Service and Council.
• Solid understanding of statutory compliance, health and safety, and safe systems of work.
• Able to read drawings, O&M manuals and identify defects.

Requirements

Enhanced DBS check. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.

As a Multi Skilled Commercial Engineer you will work in schools and other commercial premises, carrying out repairs and maintenance. Your key aim is to keep buildings well maintained with no disruption to service users, allowing staff to focus on educational matters.
