Your Purpose

The CCTV Operator will look after the security, safety and well‑being of all guests and colleagues at Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere making sure they do not cause harm to themselves or others due to unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.

Job Description

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service‑oriented manner
  • Adhere to all policies as set forth by the Assistant Security Manager
  • Supervise the surveillance of the closed circuit television system and supply evidence on CD as necessary
  • Complete a daily shift occurrence report accurately and in its entirety ensuring that particular attention is paid to times that certain activities are performed
  • Supervise all contract security personnel and daily operations
  • Complete accident and incident forms accurately, in their entirety and in a timely manner
  • Review Daily News and Manager on Duty reports and keep up to date with all VIP arrivals/protocols
  • Security screens all individuals
  • Open secured areas for authorized personnel and log activity
  • Check door locks throughout the hotel
  • Thoroughly investigate all vehicle accidents, alleged thefts, and other security‑related incidents
  • Respond to medical emergencies and assist as required
  • Investigate assault complaints and investigate fully
  • Respond to the hotel outlets promptly and deal with guests as needed, accurately and document entirely any such incidents
  • Respond immediately and investigate fire/emergency alarm activations
  • Challenge suspicious persons and escort them off property if warranted; record any pertinent information and log it in the occurrence report
  • Actively check for all security and safety hazards and document by way of a security incident report
  • Implement security patrols of the hotel from the roof to the basement areas regularly during each shift; the times will be staggered daily
  • All security concerns and violations will be noted, properly documented, and brought to the attention of the Assistant Security Manager
  • Be knowledgeable of the hotel’s lock system and perform all duties as assigned by the Assistant Security Manager; this includes being able to program a lock. In addition, all officers will immediately commence with performing a lock interrogation of a door lock on a room involved in an alleged theft or other incidents
  • Receive and handle all lost & found items, as per standard operating procedure
  • Liaise with law enforcement/government departments in the absence of the Assistant Security Manager

Qualifications

  • UK‑recognised CCTV Operator qualification (required)
  • CPR certification (required)
  • Previous experience in a similar security or CCTV monitoring role is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills
  • High level of responsibility, reliability and personal integrity
  • Ability to remain calm, focused and courteous while responding to guest needs
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
  • First Aid, conflict‑management training, or previous military/law‑enforcement experience is beneficial
  • Secondary education (high school diploma) and/or relevant industry experience preferred
