Cover Supervisor

New Directions Education are recruiting a pool of confident, adaptable, and compassionate Cover Supervisors to work across a range secondary schools in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people from KS3 – KS5 to achieve their full potential in a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment.

We are looking for people who are:

• Confident in managing classroom environments and promoting positive behaviour
• Able to adapt teaching and support approaches to meet individual needs
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient when working with pupils who may display challenging behaviour
• Passionate about inclusive education and committed to making a difference in the lives of young people

As a Cover Supervisor, your working day will involve:

• Delivering pre-prepared lessons and activities to learners with a range of abilities
• Supporting students in maintaining engagement and focus throughout the school day
• Adapting your approach to meet individual learning styles and needs, including those with autism, complex learning difficulties, and SEMH needs
• Promoting positive behaviour and creating a calm, supportive classroom environment
• Building positive, trusting relationships with students, families, and staff teams
• Ensuring the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of every learner under your supervision

All roles are subject to satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS check.
