About The Role

  • Play a key role in safe supply of medicines.
  • Collaborate closely with the pharmacy team and wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to optimise patients’ medicines and care.
  • Support and develop other members of the pharmacy team.
  • Participate in service improvement activities and delivery of education and training.
  • Benefit from opportunities to undertake essential qualifications to support progression such as the HNC in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Final Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician as well as other personal and professional development initiatives.

About You

  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • A Certificate in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent) and an SVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and development, a professional attitude, and a passion for working in healthcare.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care and supporting a patient-centred approach.
  • A strong alignment with NHS Lothian’s values and a willingness to contribute to our dynamic team.
  • Flexibility to support evening and weekend working when required.
  • Post holder must have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
