Are you a recent graduate passionate about education, child development and making a genuine difference in young people’s lives?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Academic Mentor to join a welcoming and ambitious primary school in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, SEN support or child development.
Working closely with class teachers and senior staff, you will support pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2, helping children to build confidence, strengthen core academic skills and thrive within the classroom environment.
The Role
As a Graduate Academic Mentor, you will:
- Support pupils in lessons across a range of subjects
- Deliver small-group and 1:1 intervention sessions
- Help raise attainment in literacy and numeracy
- Support children with additional learning needs where required
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and wellbeing
- Gain valuable classroom experience alongside experienced educators
We Are Looking For
- A recent graduate (all degree subjects considered)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, proactive and compassionate approach
- A genuine interest in education and supporting children
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
- Aspiring teachers, educational psychologists or youth professionals are strongly encouraged to apply
