Position Overview
The Estates and Facilities Department at the University of Nottingham employs approximately 1300 people and provides strategic and operational services support to the university’s infrastructure, buildings and landholdings. A qualified and experienced Maintenance Craftsperson is required to work within the Estates Department at either University Park, Jubilee Campus or the Medical School at the Queens Medical Centre, undertaking planned and reactive maintenance on university buildings. The role includes liaising with customers and other university departments to ensure work is carried out efficiently and cost‑effectively, and completing pre and post‑task documentation to maintain accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Plan and carry out reactive maintenance tasks on university buildings.
- Maintain accurate pre‑ and post‑task documentation.
- Liaise with customers and other departments to coordinate maintenance work.
- Support the operation and repair of heating and ventilation systems.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in an appropriate building services engineering discipline such as Heating Engineering or Plumbing.
- Experience working in a mechanical services/plumbing maintenance environment.
- Thorough understanding of the operation and repair of heating and ventilation systems.
- Current full driving licence – required to drive between university sites.
