Job Overview
Are you highly organised, detail‑focused, and ready to play a key role in supporting essential ICT services? We’re looking for a proactive Stock Controller to manage and optimise our ICT hardware lifecycle across the county. The ICT Service ensures the right information reaches the right people at the right time. To support organisational goals, IT must be reliable, fast, and simple to minimise risk and improve usability. ICT is responsible for keeping Council data secure, maintaining its integrity, and ensuring it is accessible only to authorised users.
Remuneration & Hours
Salary: £31,537 – £33,699 per annum. Hours per week: 37.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of stockrooms and storage hubs, ensuring the right equipment is available when and where it’s needed.
- Forecast demand and order hardware to meet service requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships and act as the ICT SAP requisitioner.
- Oversee the safe disposal of hardware using government‑approved data wiping tools, safeguarding sensitive information while maximizing financial return.
- Balance operational needs, budgets, and compliance while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidates should have experience in stock control, procurement, or a related field, with a good understanding of ICT hardware life‑cycle management. Strong organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills are essential.
