As a Position, Navigation & Timing (PNT) Electronic Systems & Sensors Engineer, you will play a vital part in the development and delivery of PNT projects. Reporting into a dedicated Programme Manager, your expertise will help shape systems that support critical defence operations. You’ll work closely in a collaborative environment, contributing to projects that make a meaningful impact in the defence sector.
Responsibilities
- Manage the generation of Electronic Systems & Sensors (ESS) requirements and define technical deliverables for subsystems.
- Review and recommend technical data to support system maturity and documentation, ensuring successful outcomes.
- Identify and elevate risks in areas such as safety, environment, or costs, applying appropriate management principles.
- Design subsystems or components that satisfy customer requirements within agreed constraints.
- Contribute to system testing, verification, validation, and evaluation activities, ensuring quality and compliance.
Qualifications
- Are you an engineer with a background in electronic systems, sensors, or mechatronics? Do you hold SC clearance and have a passion for delivering innovative defence solutions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity based in Bristol, working for a leading defence company, with the option for hybrid working.
- A STEM qualification at RQF Level 4 or higher is essential.
- Proven experience advising on and delivering electronic systems, sensors, or mechatronics in diverse environments.
- Professional registration with a relevant body, such as EngTech, RSciTech, MarTech, RITTech, or ICTTech, or alternatively, a minimum of RQF Level 6 in a related discipline.
- Experience in Position, Navigation & Timing technologies, Global Navigation Satellite Systems, or Satellite Communication technologies is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple project demands confidently.
