Job Description:

Job Purpose

Responsible for handling the procurement process, sourcing suppliers and managing vendor relationships to ensure a seamless supply chain and optimise costs. The role works collaboratively with cross‑functional teams, makes strategic decisions where needed and implements best practices within the procurement function.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with organisational goals.
  • Leading, managing and mentoring purchasing and small stores teams.
  • Prepare and present reports on department activities, performance metrics and cost savings to higher management.
  • Ensure regular stock takes and oversee all purchasing operations, including day‑to‑day ordering, stock control and ERP data accuracy.
  • Manage existing and new supplier relationships and develop relevant metrics to track performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes, documentation, and risk mitigation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes, efficiency and supplier performance.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to sourcing activities.
  • Introduce and own new initiatives to support and improve the performance and development of the department.
  • Assist with ad‑hoc admin, logistics and customer service tasks when needed.
  • People management: manage staffing, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision.
  • Motivate and coach the team, monitor task completion and promote high standards.
  • Maintain company records such as training matrices, performance reviews, risk assessments.
  • Lead the team in new process introduction.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
  • Communicate and recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimising cost.
  • Support, comply and ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, the company handbook and all other company policies.
  • Develop and proactively contribute to creating a good team atmosphere.
  • Embrace personal challenge, confident rounded thinking and take ownership for team cohesion.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 5 years of purchasing experience.
  • Knowledge of working to AS9100 & ISO9001 Standards is an advantage.
  • Background in Aerospace / Automotive / Motorsport Manufacturing.
  • Strong planning, logical and systematic approach to work.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure, maintaining accuracy and deadlines.
  • Excellent relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • IT literacy, Excel skills and electronic data handling.
  • Understanding of risk management in the context of the supply chain.
