About The Role
Consultant Urologist – Emersons Green, Bristol. Full‑time, Permanent. 40 hours per week/4×10 hour days (Part‑time also considered).
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our multi‑discipline medical team as a Consultant Urologist on a full‑time or part‑time basis. As a Practice Plus Group Consultant you will have access to great facilities in a well‑structured and relaxed environment. You will be joining a team committed to delivering the highest standards in patient care, as demonstrated by our success in obtaining a CQC Good rating. You will be a highly valued member of our team bringing your expertise and skills in Urology. As part of our professional, friendly and compassionate team you will do everything you can to ensure the patient’s treatment is of the highest standard whether NHS or privately funded. You will be performing Urological surgical procedures on patients referred to the Hospital, working in accordance with hospital protocols and working practices. From your extensive experience you’ll be able to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of Urological problems. As a UK‑registered medical professional, with a listing on the Specialist GMC register, we will support you with your ongoing CPD and career development.
What You’ll Be Doing
Provide an onsite urology service to meet the needs of patients treated at both Practice Plus Group Hospital Emersons Green and Devizes Surgical Centre. The working week will comprise an agreed number of sessions based on the total number of contracted hours, with flexible patterns that may include late evenings and weekend work to meet the unit’s requirements. There is no on‑call commitment but post holders must be prepared to assess patients urgently in person on the unit as requested by the Resident Doctor (RD) on duty during routine working hours. Post holders will be expected to provide cross‑cover for colleagues during periods of absence, including annual leave and study leave, whenever possible.

- Qualified urological surgeon on the Specialist Register of the GMC (FRCS or equivalent)
- Able to conduct a clinical audit
- Broad general experience of urology with demonstrable expertise in endoscopic techniques
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Self‑awareness and the ability to develop others
- Ability to teach clinical and practical skills
- Ability to communicate well with patients and staff, both orally and in writing
