Music Teacher (Head Of Department)

Overview

We are recruiting a qualified Music Teacher for an Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ co‑educational secondary school in Croydon, South London. This permanent role starts in September and may offer Head of Department status for the right candidate.

Salary and Benefits

Outer London M1–UPS3 pay scale, £37,868–£56,154 per annum + TLR. ECT support available. Inspirational leadership and strong career progression. Opportunity to work with an esteemed music department.

Qualifications and Experience

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in Music.
• Strong behaviour and classroom‑management skills.
• Extensive knowledge of the Music curriculum and ability to deliver engaging lessons across KS3–KS5.
• Experience in teaching music, with a track record of stepping up into a Head of Department role.
• Open to Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality music lessons across KS3–KS5.
• Support the music department as Head of Department if selected.
• Collaborate with colleagues and leadership team to enhance the music programme.
