Law Lane Solicitors is seeking motivated and experienced Immigration and Family Solicitors to join our growing legal team in Stratford and Croydon. These are office-based roles, offering the opportunity to manage a mixed caseload of immigration and family law matters.
The successful candidates will deliver high-quality legal advice and representation while maintaining excellent professional, client care, and compliance standards in line with the firm’s policies and SRA requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesImmigration Law
- Manage a varied private client immigration caseload, including:
- Entry clearance, extensions, and settlement applications
- Human rights applications
- Asylum and protection claims
- Appeals and administrative reviews
- British citizenship and naturalisation applications
- Prepare and submit high-quality applications and legal representations
- Conduct client consultations and provide clear, practical legal advice
- Liaise with the Home Office, tribunals, counsel, and other relevant stakeholders
- Ensure files are managed efficiently and in compliance with firm procedures
Family Law
- Handle a range of private family law matters, including:
- Divorce and dissolution proceedings
- Financial remedy matters
- Children matters (residence, contact, and parental responsibility)
- Non-molestation and occupation orders
- Draft court applications, statements, and supporting documents
- Attend hearings where required
- Provide sensitive, pragmatic, and client-focused advice
General Duties
- Maintain accurate and well-organised files in accordance with SRA and firm requirements
- Ensure compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations, AML, GDPR, and internal policies
- Meet billing targets and maintain accurate time recording
- Contribute to business development and client retention
- Support and supervise junior staff where appropriate
Person SpecificationEssential Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- Proven experience in immigration law
- Experience in family law (highly desirable)
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and procedural requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a busy caseload independently
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Professional, client-focused approach with strong attention to detail
