A leading international law firm is seeking a skilled Risk & Compliance Officer to join its established global Risk & Compliance function. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious compliance professional looking to build their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.
About the Role
As a Risk & Compliance Officer, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring the smooth and compliant onboarding of clients and matters. Working within a collaborative team, you will support practitioners across the firm on a range of risk, regulatory and conflicts‑related issues. This role is based in London with hybrid working available.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing client and matter inception, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies
- Conducting AML checks, KYC reviews and sanctions screenings
- Advising on and recording client‑specific engagement terms
- Ongoing monitoring of client and matter risk
- Assisting with the setup and maintenance of confidentiality barriers
- Supporting compliance reporting, audits, internal training and process‑improvement projects
- Liaising closely with legal, revenue, marketing and conflicts teams where required
About You
To succeed as a Risk & Compliance Officer, you’ll bring:
- At least two years’ experience in a compliance function within a regulated environment – ideally a law firm
- A law degree or GDL (preferred)
- Strong AML knowledge and excellent attention to detail
- Confident communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
- High levels of integrity, organisation and resilience
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel
