At Sunrise Technologies, we’re looking for a Technical Projects Engineer to join our growing team and take the lead on delivering hands‑on IT projects including infrastructure builds, office relocations, and meeting room / Teams Room installations for our clients.
This is a role where no two projects are the same – from Microsoft 365 deployments and networking infrastructure installations to full office moves and meeting room installations.
This is not a purely support role. You’ll be leading and delivering projects, making technical decisions, and ensuring the end result works for the customer.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll take ownership of delivering a wide range of IT projects, including:
- Microsoft 365 migrations and deployments
- Server and infrastructure upgrades
- Network and firewall installations
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Cybersecurity platform deployments
You’ll also deliver practical, hands‑on project work, including:
- Office relocations and IT moves
- Desk decommissioning and recommissioning
- Meeting room / Microsoft Teams Room installations
- Network installations, Wi‑Fi deployments, cabinet setup, patching and cabling
- Physical installation of infrastructure and equipment
This role is hands‑on. You will be expected to physically install and deliver solutions including meeting room systems, network infrastructure, and office setups – not just design them, and you’ll be responsible for ensuring solutions are fully tested and working from an end‑user perspective before handover.
Ownership & Responsibility
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in delivering projects properly from planning them well, implementing them professionally, and leaving the customer environment better than they found it.
You’ll take ownership of projects from:
- Planning and technical design
- Implementation and installation
- Testing and validation
- Documentation and handover
You’ll also act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues when needed, supporting the wider team.
What You’ll Work With
We don’t expect you to tick every box, but strong experience in the following is important:
- Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy
- Networking (switching, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs)
- Virtualisation (VMware / Hyper‑V)
- Backup solutions (Veeam, Datto or similar)
- Experience with Teams Rooms / AV / infrastructure installs
- Full desk setups and office relocations
Experience delivering projects in an MSP or multi‑client environment is highly desirable.
