EC&I Project & Design Engineer / FMCG Projects / REMOTE / £55k – £65k + bens
Would you like the opportunity to take a technical lead role on EC&I projects within a consultancy that has experienced significant growth in recent years?
I am supporting an international engineering consultancy that is expanding its UK presence and is looking to appoint a UK-based EC&I Engineer to work REMOTELY and support ongoing growth across the FMCG sector. The company already works with several blue-chip customers and has ambitious plans to further expand its project and design capabilities across both UK and international sites.
The successful candidate will play a key role in bringing EC&I design capability in-house, supporting the development and delivery of automation and electrical systems across a range of brewery, distillery, and food manufacturing projects.
This role would suit an engineer with a strong background in control systems, low voltage electrical design, and industrial automation, who enjoys working across multiple projects in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
- Deliver EC&I engineering design across brewery, distillery, and FMCG projects
- Produce electrical and control system design documentation
- Carry out engineering calculations and technical design work
- Develop control philosophies and automation strategies
- Produce technical deliverables including:
- Electrical schematics
- I/O lists and allocation
- Instrumentation specifications
- Equipment and component selection
- Support the integration of automation and control systems
- Collaborate closely with process engineers and project managers to deliver complete engineering solutions
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and project delivery
- Engage with equipment vendors and automation suppliers where required
- Automation platforms will primarily include Siemens and Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley).
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working as an EC&I Engineer, Controls Engineer, or Automation Engineer
- Strong understanding of low voltage electrical systems
- Proven experience producing EC&I design documentation and engineering calculations
- Experience with industrial automation and PLC-based control systems
- Ability to manage and contribute across multiple engineering projects
- Experience within food manufacturing, brewing, distilling, or FMCG environments would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of process automation and control systems
