The Role
This is a field-based role combining new business development and account management. You’ll build strong partnerships with employers, promote our apprenticeship and training solutions, and play a key role in expanding our regional presence.
You’ll spend much of your time meeting customers face-to-face, identifying opportunities, and representing Skills for Security as a trusted partner.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Account Management
- Achieve sales targets across apprenticeships, Skills On-Demand, and technical training
- Develop and grow a portfolio of employer accounts across the Midlands
- Identify and win new business opportunities and partnerships
- Conduct regular client meetings (typically 3 days per week on the road)
- Deliver professional proposals and presentations
Market Engagement
- Represent Skills for Security at industry events, networking, and exhibitions
- Act as a brand ambassador for the organisation
- Provide market insights and customer feedback to support growth
Collaboration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline forecasts
- Work closely with the Head of Sales on campaigns and regional initiatives
- Contribute ideas to support sales and marketing activity
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- 3–5+ years’ experience in business development or field sales
- Proven track record of meeting sales targets
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to manage your own territory
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable (not essential)
- Fire & Security industry experience
- Apprenticeship or training sector knowledge
- CRM experience (HubSpot preferred)
