UK Sales Manager / Business Development Manager

Hybrid (London HQ + UK-wide travel)

An established and growing UK water technology business is looking to appoint a commercially driven Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to support continued expansion.

The company has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative water and wastewater treatment solutions, and is experiencing sustained growth driven by increasing demand across the UK utilities and industrial markets.

This is a key role focused on winning new business, developing client relationships, and driving revenue growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will take ownership of the full sales lifecycle, from initial prospecting through to deal closure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the end-to-end sales process including lead generation, client meetings, proposals, and closing
  • Developing and executing sales strategies aligned with business growth targets
  • Building and maintaining a robust pipeline of opportunities
  • Leading responses to tenders, RFPs, and proposals
  • Engaging with clients to understand requirements and position appropriate solutions
  • Maintaining accurate pipeline activity within CRM systems
  • Representing the business at client meetings and industry events

About You

  • Experience within the UK water or wastewater sector (typically 5+ years)
  • Background in technical sales or engineering (process or mechanical preferred)
  • Strong understanding of water/wastewater treatment technologies
  • A proven track record of winning new business
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to identify and develop opportunities
  • Comfortable engaging with end-user clients and stakeholders

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Tenacity and drive to manage longer sales cycles
  • Confident presenting both technical and commercial solutions
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence

Additional Information

  • Hybrid role with a mix of home working and time in the London office
  • Regular travel across the UK to meet clients and attend site visits
  • Occasional international travel may be required
