Recreation Assistant

Position Details

We are hiring two Part Time Recreation Assistants for the following shift patterns:

• Friday 14:30‑23:00
• Saturday 14:30‑21:30

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a large team to ensure a safe environment for users and maintain high levels of customer service.
• Perform lifeguarding duties and keep the facility safe for swimmers.
• Carry out cleaning tasks, set up sports areas and safely move equipment.
• Assist in the planning and prioritisation of daily activities.

Qualifications

• Hold a current Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS) lifeguard qualification or an equivalent.
• Have experience working as a lifeguard and keep monthly training records up to date.
• Excellent communication skills and a helpful, customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
• Available to work weekdays and weekends, early mornings (as early as 0600am) and late evenings (until 1100pm).
• Primarily based at a designated sports facility but willing to travel to any of the University’s sports facilities as required.
