A specialist school in Croydon is seeking a passionate Deputy Head of School to join its Senior Leadership Team and help drive exceptional outcomes for pupils with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and complex needs.

The Role

As Deputy Head, you will work closely with the Head of School to support the day-to-day leadership and strategic development of the school, ensuring every pupil receives the support they need to thrive.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing teaching staff and support teams

  • Promoting outstanding teaching and learning across the school

  • Supporting pupils with complex SEND and behavioural needs

  • Monitoring behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding systems

  • Working collaboratively with families, therapists, and external agencies

  • Contributing to the school improvement strategy and curriculum development

We are looking for a dedicated and resilient leader who has:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)Significant experience in a SEND or specialist education settingProven leadership experience within a school environmentStrong understanding of SEMH, trauma-informed practice, and behaviour supportAbility to inspire staff and build a positive school cultureCommitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing
