Job Overview

We are seeking a talented chef to join our kitchen team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen, maintaining the highest culinary standards, a This is an exciting opportunity for chefs with a passion for both seafood and traditional pub food with a modern twist, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position are both, full time and permanent working 5 days out of 7 based on a 40-45 hour working week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Kitchen Operations: Ensuring all dishes are prepared, cooked, and presented to the highest standard.
  • Food Preparation & Cooking: Oversee and participate in the preparation, cooking, and plating of food, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation,
  • Inventory Management: Assist in stock management, including inventory control, ordering, and proper rotation of ingredients. Ensure minimal food wastage.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards, including sanitation practices and ensuring the kitchen complies with all local regulations.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain consistent quality control during service, ensuring dishes are served promptly and at the desired standard.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient communication and a seamless dining experience for guests.

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Proven experience in a pub, restaurant, or similar kitchen environment.
  • Excellent culinary skills and a passion for preparing high-quality, fresh food.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Solid understanding of kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and food safety practices.
  • A keen eye for detail and commitment to consistency in food quality and presentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with all staff members.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required including the up coming festive period.
