Job Description:

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing mechanical project delivery from pre‑construction handover through to completion
  • Leading site teams including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors
  • Driving programme delivery and ensuring key milestones are achieved
  • Managing project budgets, cost control, and commercial performance alongside quantity surveyors
  • Coordinating procurement and management of long‑lead mechanical plant and equipment
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and main contractors
  • Managing subcontractor performance, productivity, and quality standards
  • Identifying and managing project risks, variations and technical challenges
  • Ensuring all works are delivered safely and in line with EHSQ requirements
  • Leading commissioning activities and supporting successful project handover
  • Providing regular progress updates, reporting and forecasting to senior management
  • Driving quality standards and snag‑free delivery across projects

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience within the M&E / Mechanical Building Services industry
  • Previous experience in a Mechanical Project Manager role delivering large‑scale projects
  • HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project financials
  • SMSTS qualification essential
  • Valid CSCS Black Card
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, commissioning and project delivery processes
  • Experience using MS Project, Asta, Procore, Fieldview or similar platforms
  • Ability to manage fast‑paced, technically complex projects

Desirable Experience

  • Experience delivering Data Centre, Pharmaceutical or Industrial projects
  • Membership of CIOB, APM or CIBSE
  • Strong understanding of JCT and NEC contracts
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary M&E teams
