About The Role

As a Building Services Technician (HVAC) you will be part of the in-house Estates team that supports and enables the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the university estate. The role is varied and diverse, with day‑to‑day duties ranging from ensuring that our estate is safe and operational to supporting the delivery of key University events such as open days and graduation ceremonies.

Typical Duties

  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all building mechanical, ventilation and plumbing systems through the management and delivery of preventative planned maintenance, statutory inspections, remedial works and the efficient operation of the systems.
  • Manage specialist contractors, including their procurement, safe delivery of works and performance management.
  • Prepare and evaluate small works/remedial work tenders, making recommendations with regard to the appointment of contractors and the awarding of works in line with all relevant NTU procurement requirements.
  • Ensure contract documents and health and safety documents are correctly executed and in place before work commences on site.
