Job Overview
The Process Technician Coordinator is responsible for all manufacturing and packaging processes with Botanical Drug Product (BDP) using well‑defined and documented manufacturing procedures while complying with Health and Safety (H&S) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements. Where appropriate, this role will also include direct people management responsibilities, including individual/team performance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cGxP and EH&S knowledge applicable to the job.
- Ensure delivery against schedule for all BDP production batches.
- Ensure batch documentation is processed in accordance with cGMP and current procedures.
- Perform routine micro testing in the Commercial Manufacturing Suite (CMS).
- Liaise with supply chain, warehouse, engineering, QC and QA on BDP production scheduling.
- Train other technicians on new processes and manufacturing changes.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements across all BDP production processes.
- Complete additional tasks assigned by production management outside core duties.
- Record manufacturing/process conditions in batch documentation and equipment/area logbooks.
- Complete area/equipment cleaning procedures to high standards.
- Author and update batch documentation, SOPs and associated forms.
- Prepare and complete quality‑related documentation such as deviations, CAPAs, protocols and change controls.
- Remain flexible with working hours to complete production processes as needed.
- Coach new starters and re‑train individuals in BDP manufacturing and packaging processes.
- Act as the BDP department EH&S representative if required.
- Handle consumable and critical‑to‑quality ordering within the department.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in a regulated production environment, ideally within the pharmaceutical, chemical or food industry.
- Ideally hold qualifications in the Pharmaceutical industry (e.g., NVQ’s or similar).
- Proven experience of team supervision or leadership in Pharmaceutical or related industry.
- Good level of numeracy and strong written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in standard Microsoft packages (Excel, Word).
- Strong working relationships with key stakeholder groups, both internal and external.
- Demonstrates a “can do” attitude and ability to challenge the norm and improve processes.
