Fire Safety Manager

Interviews are expected to be held 10 July 2026.

This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced fire safety professional to become a key member of our fire safety team. Working for the Health and Safety Service and reporting to the Senior Fire Safety Manager, you will provide comprehensive fire safety support on all matters relating to compliance with Fire Safety legislation and codes of practice.

• Provide comprehensive fire safety support in relation to the Fire Safety legislation and codes of practice.
• Liaise with a broad spectrum of stakeholders and navigate an ever‑changing, diverse and challenging environment.
• Ensure uniformity in fire safety practice throughout all University properties.
• Work alongside capital investment programmes.
• Report to the Senior Fire Safety Manager and work within the Health and Safety Service framework.

Experience and Qualifications

• Experience of fire risk assessment.
• Knowledge of Fire Safety legislation and related codes of practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working alongside capital investment programmes is an advantage.
• Vouched for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route (first‑time applicants may need to qualify for salary concessions).
