Residential Support Worker (Children’s Home)

Salary: £23000 – £26000 Location: Maidstone, Kent  Hours: Full-time Holiday: 28 days per annum

About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join our team supporting children and young people aged 8–18 within a residential care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe, stable, and caring home environment
  • Support young people with daily routines, including school, meals, and activities
  • Promote emotional well-being, independence, and life skills
  • Act as a positive role model and build trusting relationships
  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
  • Support recreational, social, and educational activities (including evenings and weekends)
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and logs in line with regulatory requirements
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times
  • Support health needs, including attending appointments and administering care (with training)
Additional Duties
  • Participate in training, supervision, and performance reviews
  • Support educational development, including basic numeracy and literacy
  • Assist with household tasks such as cooking and maintaining a clean environment
  • Ensure health & safety standards are met at all times
  • Provide support across services where required
