Job Description:

The Directorate Manager for Adult Community Services plays a pivotal leadership role within the Community Division, providing strategic and operational management across a wide range of adult community services. The post-holder will work closely with the Divisional General Manager to ensure high-quality, safe, and effective service delivery, supporting the Trust’s strategic shift from acute to community-based care.

The role is responsible for leading multiple service portfolios, driving performance, ensuring robust governance, and supporting the delivery of key transformation programmes that improve patient outcomes and community pathways. The Directorate Manager will provide visible leadership to operational teams, ensuring services are well-led, responsive, and aligned to national and local priorities.

The post-holder will act as a key member of the Divisional leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, workforce development, financial stewardship, and continuous quality improvement across Adult Community Services. They will also work collaboratively with system partners to support integrated models of care and strengthen community provision.

In conjunction with the Divisional General Manager, support the development of improved models of service delivery, workforce planning, and business processes that reduce unnecessary waits and delays across adult community patient pathways.

As delegated by the Divisional General Manager, take a lead role in the management arrangements required to deliver key objectives and priorities within Adult Community Services.

In conjunction with the Divisional General Manager, ensure that Business, Finance, Performance, Risk Management, and Governance are appropriately carried out within the Directorate, ensuring that all key targets are met.
