Job Description:

Duration: 4 month initial contract with potential for extension

Location: Wokingham, hybrid 2/3 days per week onsite

Rate: up to £533.60 p/d Umbrellainside IR35

Clearance required: Active SC Clearance is required

  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of network projects (LAN/WAN, SD‑WAN, Wi‑Fi, security, cloud connectivity, etc.).
  • Translate business requirements into delivery plans, ensuring alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, risks, and budgets using appropriate delivery frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Ensure smooth deployment of network upgrades, migrations, and expansions across multiple sites.
  • Coordinate with architecture, engineering, operations, and third‑party vendors to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for network delivery-related communications.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external suppliers, and service providers.
  • Drive vendor accountability for on‑time and quality delivery.
  • Provide regular progress reporting to senior leadership and project governance forums.

Quality, Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all network delivery activities comply with company standards, security policies, and industry best practices.
  • Oversee testing, validation, and documentation to support operational readiness.
  • Support change management processes, including CAB (Change Advisory Board) submissions and risk reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline network delivery processes and improve efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of network delivery standards and best practices.
  • Support capacity planning, lifecycle management, and technology refresh initiatives.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience delivering network projects in medium to large‑scale environments.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking technologies, such as:
  • Routing & Switching (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper)
  • Firewalls and network security
  • Wireless networks
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
  • Experience working with external network vendors/carriers.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and change management.

Skills

  • Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, DNA Center, etc.).
  • Experience delivering large-scale network transformations or cloud migrations.
