Role & Responsibilities Of The Quantity Surveyor
- Develop a thorough understanding of project specifications, pricing structures, programmes, and contractual conditions.
- Assist in reviewing, negotiating, and agreeing client and main contractor contract documentation.
- Support supplier and subcontractor selection, orders, and commercial management to ensure quality, capability, and contractual compliance.
- Measure, value, submit, and negotiate contract variations with clients and supply chain to ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Monitor and report project costs, cash flows, and progress, recommending and implementing improvements where necessary.
- Analyse internal reporting systems, design, procurement, and construction outputs, providing feedback on quality and content.
- Maintain and enforce commercial controls, change management processes, and adherence to company standards.
- Attend internal and external project meetings, recording actions, agreements, and unresolved matters for follow‑up.
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to project teams, review correspondence, and ensure processes are followed.
- Contribute to team development by mentoring junior staff and ensuring training needs are met.
About You As The Quantity Surveyor
- Proven experience in quantity surveying within construction, with strong commercial, reporting, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, both internal and external.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with project management and cost reporting systems.
