About the Role
Senior Health and Safety Manager role to lead our safety strategy and support growth in high-risk, operational environments. This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for shaping, implementing, and embedding health and safety excellence across all areas of the business. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, managing risk, and promoting a strong safety culture across complex operations including lifting activities, working at height, and highways environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the company’s health and safety strategy across all divisions
- Ensure full compliance with UK legislation, including CDM Regulations and relevant HSE standards
- Oversee safety across high-risk activities such as contract lifting, MEWP operations, and traffic management
- Conduct audits, site inspections, and incident investigations across multiple locations
- Provide expert advice and support to senior leadership and operational teams
- Develop and deliver targeted training and awareness programmes
- Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement in safety performance
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and external stakeholders
- Support bid and tender processes with health and safety expertise
About You
- Proven experience in a senior health and safety role within sectors such as telecommunications, construction, lifting operations, logistics, or highways
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Contract lifting and LOLER requirements
- Working at height and MEWP regulations
- Traffic management and highways safety
- Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) – highly desirable
- Demonstrable experience managing safety in multi-site, operational environments
- Strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with high attention to detail
