The role

We’re looking for a Technical writer to join our Content and Comms team. This is a newly created role, reporting to the Head of Content & Comms, designed to make complex technology clear, structured and accessible. As Seccl’s Technical Writer, you’ll create and maintain the documentation that enables developers and operational teams to understand and use our platform effectively.

The Content and Comms team sits at the centre of how Seccl shows up in the market. We shape our brand and drive awareness through content, campaigns and events. As we scale, we’re focused on delivering clear, insight-led content that supports commercial outcomes and strengthens our position in the industry – and that includes world-class technical documentation.

Working closely with Product, Engineering, Product Marketing and customer-facing teams, you’ll ensure every guide, API reference, release note and help article is accurate, well-structured and easy to follow. You’ll also help define and maintain the tone and style of our technical documentation, ensuring it reflects the same clarity and straightforward approachability that underpins the Seccl brand.

On a typical day you will be…

  • Creating and maintaining user guides, API documentation, release notes and implementation materials – ensuring everything is technically accurate, structured and easy to follow.

  • Owning the ongoing improvement of our documentation, proactively updating content as the platform evolves.

  • Championing clarity and consistency across all product content, applying and helping to evolve Seccl’s tone, style and documentation standards.

  • Supporting developer experience by making our platform intuitive to understand and straightforward to integrate with.

  • Partnering with Product and Engineering teams to translate complex technical changes into accessible, user-focused documentation.

  • Collaborating with Product Marketing to align release communications and user-facing content, ensuring technical accuracy and messaging consistency.

  • Managing documentation systems and version control, keeping content well organised, searchable and up to date.

This role’s for you if…

  • You’re an exceptional writer who can simplify complex technical concepts without losing accuracy or nuance.

  • You’ve created and maintained documentation for technical or SaaS products – ideally in fintech or developer-focused environments.

  • You understand APIs, developer tooling and technical specifications, and can confidently translate them into clear, usable guidance.

  • You have a sharp eye for detail and care deeply about clarity, consistency and quality.

  • You’re comfortable using documentation platforms, version control systems or static site generators.

  • You thrive working cross-functionally with engineers, product managers and marketers, and know how to ask the right questions to get the detail you need.

  • You’re curious, methodical and precise – combining technical understanding with a genuine passion for clear communication.

  • You’re motivated by making technology more accessible and want to help shape how clients and partners experience Seccl’s platform.

This role isn’t for you if…

  • You rely on a lot of top-down direction. Here, you’ll have a lot of freedom and ownership of your role, and you’ll be expected to shape your own progression

  • You’re not comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Our speed and scalability are what set us apart; you need to be able to act quickly and think on your feet

  • You struggle to follow through on ideas. We value people who do what they say they will. If you care about something, you have the freedom here to make it happen

  • You don’t like change. You’ll get on great here if you relish the ambiguity of rapid growth and are willing to embrace uncertainty

What’s in it for you…
