Summary of the role

EXL is seeking a skilled Front-End Developer to join our Analytics team in London. You will design and develop responsive, high-performance user interfaces that power enterprise-grade analytics and insurance SaaS platforms.

Experience within the insurance domain is preferred, particularly exposure to insurance workflows, policy administration, claims or underwriting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain client-side components using React.js, Next.js and Node.js
  • Design and implement responsive, user-centric interfaces aligned to UX best practice
  • Collaborate with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs and service layers
  • Build scalable UI modules following modern architecture principles
  • Implement secure authentication mechanisms including JWT and OAuth standards
  • Follow established framework standards for application architecture, security and deployment
  • Develop reusable components and contribute to design systems and documentation
  • Conduct debugging, testing and defect resolution
  • Maintain version control using Git and modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Recommend improvements to tools, processes and front-end standards

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with React.js, Next.js and Node.js
  • Experience with Redux, Flux or similar state management libraries
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and frontend integration patterns
  • Knowledge of JWT and modern authorisation frameworks
  • Familiarity with Webpack, Babel, NPM and modern build tools
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JSX and TypeScript
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Eligible to work in the United Kingdom

Preferred Experience

  • Experience developing front-end solutions within the insurance domain
  • Understanding of insurance products, policy administration or claims systems
  • Exposure to AWS or cloud-based environments
  • Experience with performance testing frameworks such as Mocha or Jest
  • Experience working in agile, globally distributed teams
