We’re partnered with a leading FinTech scale-up transforming how small businesses access finance to grow and scale. The business is backed by a strong track record with an ambitious mission, and they’ve successfully provided billions in funding to companies across the UK and Europe.
As they continue to grow, they are looking for a Principal Engineer to lead the next phase of innovation across their most critical product. This is a strategic leadership role offering autonomy where you’ll make a real impact. You’ll be hands-on, lead the design and development of systems and products critical to the business, own the technical roadmap, and lead a team of engineers.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the re-architecture of the team’s code, collaborating with principal engineers in other teams to design and deliver a coherent system
- Review projects to continually improve aspects of systems and processes
- Evolve system architecture to improve customer journeys and enhance offer-generation processes
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and mentor junior engineers
- Set a clear technical vision that aligns with long-term goals, working with cross-functional product and analytics teams
- Contribute to a fast-growing scale-up by bringing new opportunities and ideas to the team
What they’re looking for
- Strong experience in systems architecture, including designing and managing complex domain models
- Proficiency in software development using an object-oriented language
- Experience managing and building relationships with stakeholders
- Demonstrable leadership experience mentoring juniors and delivering cross-functional projects
