Commercial / Procurement Managers (all levels) – Digital and IT Solutions

About you

As a candidate for this role, you will have procurement experience built from a relevant sector and a passion for delivering world‑class outcomes to our Defence clients. Experience and Skills

  • Experience procuring within the IT category (hardware, software, cloud/IT infrastructure, DevOps or other digital goods and/or services).
  • Applied knowledge of procurement principles and practices with experience in contract management and/or contract placement (sourcing).
  • Developing and assuring business cases, contracting approaches, commercial strategies and other commercial artefacts.
  • Ability to identify and manage risk through procurement and commercial tools and strategies.
  • Experience preparing and executing negotiation strategies, focusing on positive outcomes.
  • Proactively monitor supplier performance, applying strategies and tools to secure maximum value, motivate performance and drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to understand key stakeholder drivers that determine priorities, direction and required outcomes.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience negotiating or managing ancillary agreements within the IT category, such as support services, obsolescence management, licensing agreements.
  • Experience procuring innovative technologies or solutions through collaborative or agile delivery initiatives.
  • Experience managing intellectual property, including agreements and sourcing strategies.
  • Background in Government Procurement processes (Single Source and Competitive).
  • Experience obtaining and utilising knowledge of supply markets, private‑sector capabilities and technologies within the IT category.

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification(s) in Business, Procurement/Supply Chain Management, Law, Project Management or a similar discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Training or sufficient experience with Defence and Security Public Contracting Regulations (DSPCR), Public Contract Regulations (PCR) and/or the Procurement Act 2023.

Additional Information

Turner & Townsend recognises the importance of balancing work and home life through flexible and hybrid working. You may be required to be on client sites or Turner & Townsend offices approximately 60% of your time, with flexibility depending on business requirements.

Security ClearanceDue to the sensitive nature of these projects, you must be a sole UK national capable of achieving and maintaining UK MoD Security Clearance (SC). Many clients and projects are subject to MoD security clearance and Trade Control restrictions, which may affect eligibility.
