We are partnering with a dynamic, international multi-brand consumer goods business seeking an experienced Non-Executive Director (Finance) to join the senior leadership team one day per week in the office in London, and help shape the UK business as it navigates growth and operational excellence.
This is a unique opportunity for a finance leader with a proven track record in consumer goods to bring strategic insight, challenge executive decision-making, and mentor the next generation of finance talent.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent oversight and guidance on the UK P&L and balance sheet, ensuring robust financial health and performance.
- Advise on cost optimisation strategies and operational efficiencies without compromising brand or commercial growth.
- Act as a trusted sounding board for the executive team, translating complex financial data into actionable business insight.
- Support and mentor a junior member of the finance team, helping develop capability and confidence at board reporting level.
- Review and strengthen financial governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks across the UK business.
- Bring a strategic lens to investment decisions, capital allocation, and resource prioritisation.
- Contribute to long-term planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis to support sustainable growth.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven board-level experience as a Non-Executive Director or equivalent in FMCG / Consumer Goods businesses.
- Deep expertise in finance, with a demonstrable track record of managing P&L, balance sheets, and cost optimisation.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance financial discipline and business growth.
- Experience in mentoring or developing finance talent within a high-performing commercial environment.
- Excellent governance and risk management experience, ideally within multi-brand or multi-market operations.
- Comfortable challenging executive thinking while maintaining constructive, collaborative relationships.
