Project Engineer

Project Engineer – MechanicalPermanent role based in Biddulph, England. Pay: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum.

Job Details

• Location: Biddulph, England (commutable from Crewe, Middlewich, Holmes Chapel, Congleton, Macclesfield, Leek, Northwich, Knutsford, Newcastle‑under‑Lyme & North Stoke)
• Job type: Permanent (Contract and Temporary options available)
• Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on experience
• Sector: Mechanical Engineering (process-driven, food and chemical, plant machinery, and ancillary equipment)

Responsibilities

• Obtain and review client specifications and drawings, analyze product test results to ensure proposals meet client requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and produce proposal documents for client presentation.
• Collaborate closely with clients and in‑house design/production staff to jointly manage client requirements.
• Maintain all project documentation, conduct site surveys, and oversee commissioning throughout the UK.
• Perform occasional site visits (approximately 3–6 times a year) to discuss progress and update the client.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical or process engineering.
• Experience with food or chemical process equipment and control systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings produced in SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles and equipment interaction.

Desirable

• Contract management experience.
• Good commercial awareness.

Location & Working Hours

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with potential for some flexibility.
