Job Description:

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development & Growth Manager to drive growth within the energy sector. This is a high-impact role focused on identifying and securing new business opportunities, building strong customer and partner relationships, and delivering revenue growth through innovative energy propositions. You will work across residential, SME, and commercial markets, supporting our mission to deliver affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions.

Accountabilities:

  • Drive and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities across consumer, SME, and commercial segments, ensuring consistent delivery against sales and revenue targets aligned with the company’s growth strategy. Lead end-to-end sales activities, including prospecting, proposal development, and contract negotiation, to successfully close deals, while also supporting the launch and scale-up of solution-based products such as tariffs, smart charging, vehicle-to-grid (V2G), bundled services, heat, solar, storage, and financing solutions.
  • Build and nurture strategic partnerships with technology providers, installers, community groups, and trade associations while developing strong, lasting relationships with customers and key industry stakeholders. Negotiate commercial agreements to expand distribution channels and enhance overall customer value, acting as a trusted advisor by understanding client energy needs and delivering tailored solutions. Drive customer satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth through effective upselling and cross-selling, and represent the organisation across trade associations, local authority programmes, and mobility forums.
  • Engage SMEs, OEMs, and commercial clients to deliver tailored energy and energy management solutions, while also supporting residential customers in adopting integrated offerings such as EVs, tariffs, home charging, and financing packages. At the same time, gather and share customer insights to help inform and refine product and proposition development.
  • Work closely with the Commercial, Propositions, Marketing, and Operations teams to design and deliver compelling customer offerings. Contribute to the development of impactful sales collateral, proposals, and pitch materials, while also gathering and sharing market feedback to help shape innovative energy solutions and services
  • Monitor energy market trends—such as regulatory changes, customer behaviour, and competitor activity—and share these insights internally to help shape strategy and proposition design, while also identifying new opportunities in adjacent markets including EV, mobility services, financing, and subscription models.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure propositions are both commercially viable and operationally deliverable, while also supporting the development of go-to-market strategies and enabling sales teams with the tools and insights needed to successfully launch and promote new products and services.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or partnerships (energy, utilities, telecoms, or related sectors).
  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding commercial targets.
  • Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to structure and evaluate deals.
  • Knowledge of energy solutions, EV charging, or energy retail propositions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in the energy sector (renewables, EV, energy efficiency, or flexibility services).
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, net zero policies, and sustainability trends.
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot) and managing pipeline reporting.
