Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Works Manager and the team in competence records and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with H&S legislation, procedures and contract requirements at all times.
- Provide HSW Support to the delivery teams in the review of project documentation.
- Attend and support prestart planning meetings where required.
- Undertake HSW safety engagement tours and formal inspections in line with project requirements.
- Attend client meetings and working groups on behalf of the CWA as and when required.
- Identify opportunities to change the way activities are undertaken to improve H&S performance.
- Analyse data for trends and produce reports and recommendations as required.
- Support the delivery team to investigate plant adverse events and trends.
- Deliver training and advisory sessions to personnel and contractors as required.
- Champion behavioural safety and the building of a positive safety culture.
- Promote the use of technology and business systems across the project.
- Be able to plan and monitor performance on SMART objectives.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to the wider project team in health, safety and wellbeing.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- National Diploma or equivalent L6 qualification (or working toward).
- Driving Licence.
- SMSTS.
Desirable Qualifications
- Incident investigation.
- CertIOSH.
- CSCS card.
- Site Environmental Awareness Training (SEATS) or similar.
- 3 day First Aid At Work (or above).
- Fire marshal.
Essential Experience & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of various plant machines and plant management.
- Strong understanding of UK H&S Regulatory Framework.
- Experience of managing health, safety and wellbeing on complex construction and civils projects.
- Ability to engage and converse at all levels.
- Competence in incident & accident investigation.
- Use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Ability to influence others and promote a positive safety culture.
- Ability to produce formal reports and documents.
- Understanding of the principles behind behaviour management.
Desirable Experience & Knowledge
- Use of Microsoft Vision, PowerApps and PowerBi.
- Mentoring and coaching skills.
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Nuclear Sector
- Tunneling activities
- Heavy Plant operations
- Lifting operations
- Coastal/Marine works
- Temporary works
- Excavations
