Mechanical & Electrical Integration Engineers (Payload Integration)
Copello are recruiting for multiple Mechanical and Electrical Integration Engineers to join a leading defence organisation based in West Wales. These permanent opportunities offer the chance to work on highly advanced programmes supporting the integration, testing, and delivery of mission‑critical payload systems.
We are seeking engineers from either a mechanical or electrical integration background who are passionate about complex system integration and enjoy working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
The Role
As an Integration Engineer, you will support the integration of payload systems onto cutting‑edge defence platforms, ensuring all mechanical, electrical, and functional requirements are successfully delivered throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with design, systems, manufacturing, and test teams, you will be involved in the planning, installation, integration, verification, and validation of payload equipment, helping to ensure programmes are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the integration of payload systems and associated equipment onto defence platforms.
- Conduct integration, verification, validation, and acceptance activities.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, interface documentation, and technical requirements.
- Investigate and resolve integration issues throughout development and test phases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful system integration.
- Support system testing, fault finding, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, reports, and integration records.
- Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and engineering change activities.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Mechanical Integration Engineer Requirements
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting mechanical integration, assembly, installation, or systems engineering activities.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, and mechanical interface requirements.
- Experience working within highly regulated engineering environments would be advantageous.
- Understanding of verification and validation processes.
Electrical Integration Engineer Requirements
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic, or Systems Engineering.
- Experience supporting electrical integration, installation, testing, or systems engineering activities.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface control documentation.
- Experience with electrical fault‑finding and system testing activities.
- Understanding of verification and validation processes.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience working within defence, aerospace, maritime, automotive, or other complex engineering sectors.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain relevant UK security clearance.
