Overview

Reporting to the Water Hygiene Supervisor, the Water Hygiene Technician will be responsible for delivering all aspects of the water hygiene program. This role involves mobile working at client sites across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the North East. The role includes a company vehicle, tablet, tools and phone.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform reactive maintenance as required, responding to task requests and ensuring jobs are completed within allocated service level agreements.
  • Conduct routine water hygiene monitoring:
    • Temperature testing inline with HSG 274 and HTM 04-01
    • Tank and pipework insulation inspections
    • Sampling when required
    • Shower cleaning and disinfecting
    • Flushing of expansion vessels when required
    • TMV maintenance including cleans, temperature checks and replacement
  • Carry out minor plumbing tasks.
  • Perform basic building inspections and operational checks (emergency lights, fire extinguishers and weekly fire alarm testing).
  • Ensure Health & Safety duties by following risk assessments and method statements.
  • Liaise with customers daily to complete tasks and gain access with minimal disruption.
  • Support other areas of the business as required.
  • Keep up to date with current regulations and any changes.
  • Regularly check paperwork and update tasks as required.

Qualifications – Essential

  • Enhanced DBS (criminal background) check.
  • City and Guilds accreditation related to ACOPL8, HSG274, HTM 04-1.
  • Good understanding of hot and cold-water systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Positive approach to learning, development and progression.
  • Flexible outlook towards hours worked; some out-of-hours work may be required.
  • Working knowledge of current Health and Safety practice.

Qualifications – Desirable

  • First aid at work training.
  • Trade background or building knowledge.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing.

Benefits and Working Conditions

  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm. Flexible working may be available.
  • Salary: £14.61 per hour.
