We’re looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our Endoscopy Team at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. This is a great opportunity to play a vital role in supporting patient care within a busy clinical environment.
In this varied role, you’ll be responsible for preparing patient documentation, updating the Patient Administration System, coordinating clinic activity, and managing correspondence. You’ll work closely with clinical and administrative colleagues to ensure services run smoothly and efficiently for patients attending Endoscopy.

Main duties of the job
- Undertake various clerical duties associated with the custody and use of Health Records, including all administrative procedures and documentation associated with a patient’s admission and/or attendance to the Trust, as outlined in the Patient Access Policy.
- Undertake duties relating to any aspect of service provided by the Health Records Team and at any department in The Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust.
- Demonstrate initiative in organising workload and making decisions and taking action within clearly defined limits.
- Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Job responsibilities
- Prepare case notes for all attendances, ensuring they comply with the Standard Order of Case Notes, and ensure X‑ray and investigation reports relevant to each attendance are available.
- Accurately input, update and monitor patient‑related information onto the computerised Patient Administration System.
- Be responsible for the security of case notes in the department.
- Ensure the timely delivery of prepared clinics to the appropriate Out‑patients Departments.
- Work closely with Medical Secretarial staff to develop an efficient team that effectively supports the Directorate.
- Arrange transport for patients as required.
- Amalgamate case notes where more than one record exists and ensure that all case notes are filed in the recognised format.
- Take action as necessary: book, cancel, change or expedite appointments on the Patient Administration System.
- Be responsible for the timely processing of all incoming and outgoing mail.
