The Application Lead manages and enhances a suite of core enterprise systems, including Dynamics CRM, Finance & Operations (F&O), Advantage, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
The role ensures these platforms are stable, secure, and aligned to organisational standards. It also leads application governance and drives continuous improvement using modern Microsoft technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the administration, performance, and stability of core applications (Dynamics CRM, F&O, Advantage, SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Provide senior support for complex or cross-platform issues
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance system functionality, efficiency, and user experience
- Lead governance forums (e.g. architecture and change boards), ensuring changes are controlled and aligned to standards
- Define and enforce application configuration and governance standards
- Manage and oversee the application change process
- Escalate risks, exceptions, or out-of-scope changes where required
- Ensure security, compliance, and data governance are embedded across all platforms
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies (e.g. Power Platform, Fabric, Microsoft Graph, Azure)
- Provide technical leadership to application support and engineering teams
Decision Making
- Responsible for day-to-day configuration, support prioritisation, and adherence to standards
- Chairs governance forums where decisions are made collectively
- Escalates complex or out-of-scope decisions to senior IT leadership
Team Management
Manages a technical team including:

Skills
- Strong expertise across enterprise applications and Microsoft platforms
- Good understanding of security, access control, and data governance
- Experience working across low-code (Power Platform) and pro-code solutions
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Structured, governance-led approach
Experience
- Hands-on experience with Dynamics CRM, finance systems, and collaboration platforms
- Strong knowledge of Power Platform, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft Graph
- Good understanding of Azure services in an enterprise environment
- Experience working within architecture and change governance frameworks
- Experience leading or coordinating technical teams

This is a hybrid working role looking at 3 times a week in their office at Haymarket, Edinburgh.
