Switchboard and CCTV Operative

This position is for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join a small team, often the first point of contact for the hospital. The Switchboard/Reception desk provides a 24/7 service giving information and directing people politely and courteously.
Main Duties
- Operate the switchboard and provide face‑to‑face assistance to members of the public visiting the hospital.
- Monitor site security cameras, fire alarms and intruder alarms.
- Respond to callers, including crisis or emergency situations, and liaise with on‑call teams, security companies and the police.
- Cover shifts as required, including evenings, weekends and occasionally standard office hours (08:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday).
Qualifications and Experience
- GCSE in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Previous experience on a telephone switchboard and reception duties.
- Basic computer skills and working knowledge of MiVoice Switchboard software.
- CCTV formal training and knowledge of basic Health & Safety and Data Protection Act.

- Flexibility to cover shifts on short notice.
- Desire to undertake further training and career development.
