Deputy Shop Manager – Oxfam Shops
Deputy shop managers play a vital role in keeping shop operations running smoothly. They are the only paid staff member in most shops, work alongside volunteers, and ensure that the shop meets its commercial and community objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Motivate and support the shop team to create a safe, energised work environment.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive sales and revenue.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and attract new supporters.
- Delegate tasks effectively to volunteers and manage day‑to‑day shop operations.
- Monitor shop performance, keep basic financial records and maintain budgets.
- Collaborate with the Shop Manager and other staff to build positive relationships.
- Respond to community needs and engage with local civil society organisations.
