Senior Data Architect (Inside IR35)

On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Senior Data Architect for a 3‑month hybrid contract, based 1 or 2 days per week in any MoJ office.

An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role. Candidates must be willing and eligible to undergo checks. Preference may be given to those who hold active security clearance.

As a Senior Data Architect, you will sit within the Data Architecture team in the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and work closely with the Security Assurance Team within MoJ Information Security.

You will lead the discovery, architecture and design activities required to support a Service Mapping initiative. The objective is to map all key services (e.g., OneTrust, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Ardoq, etc.) across the MoJ and illustrate how they connect with different business areas, systems and suppliers in a dynamic, interactive dashboard that illustrates risks.

Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience leading data architecture engagements within large, complex organisations, preferably in government.
  • Strong experience conducting discovery activities and translating business requirements into target‑state architecture.
  • Experience designing data integration solutions across multiple systems and data sources.
  • Experience defining target data models and integration approaches for enterprise‑wide reporting and analytics.
  • Strong data modelling skills, including conceptual and logical data modelling.
  • Strong understanding of AWS and modern cloud‑based platforms.
  • Ability to engage effectively with business, technical and security stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to produce high‑quality architecture artefacts.
