Trust Doctor in Gynaecological Oncology (ST6-7) – Whipps Cross Hospital
An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic doctor to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team at Whipps Cross University Hospital as a specialist Trust Doctor for 1 year. This non‑training post will provide valuable experience in maternal‑fetal medicine, high‑risk obstetrics and gynaecological oncology for those desiring future consultant posts.
Requirements: full GMC registration; post MRCOG; UK or overseas trainee obstetrician at ST5+ or above. The role includes an out‑of‑hours component, supervising junior SpR on the delivery suite and covering gynaecology emergencies.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise junior SpR on the delivery suite and cover gynaecology emergencies (out‑of‑hours).
- Work with the gynaecology oncology team in outpatient clinics and theatre.
- Manage gynaecological cancers, hysteroscopy and vulval disease, and attend regular theatre sessions.
- Participate in the gynaecology oncology ATSM programme.
- Engage in teaching, research, audit and journal club sessions.
- Operate within the New Deal initiative ensuring compliant duties and hours.

Qualifications and Knowledge – Essential
- MBBS equivalent
- MRCOG
Qualifications and Knowledge – Desirable
- CCT or equivalent
Experience – Essential
- Experience as senior registrar on the delivery suite.
- Experience with gynaecological laparoscopy.
Experience – Desirable
- Experience in the UK as senior registrar on the delivery suite.
- Experience with robotic surgery.
Skills – Essential
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

- Experience in gynaecological oncology.
- Obstetric ATSM.

- To be eligible for registration with GMC.
